Subnautica 2 Guide
Survival tips, progression walkthroughs, and strategies for Early Access.
Getting Started
First 30 Minutes
New to Subnautica 2? Prioritize the Scanner, Survival Knife, and Seaglide. Build a small base in the Shallow Reef for food, water, and storage.
Oxygen Management
Always carry extra air tanks and know the path back to the surface. Upgrade your O2 tank before exploring past 100m depth.
Progression Guide
Early Game
Follow the Seaglide → Mobile Vehicle Bay → Seamoth blueprint path. Gather Titanium, Lubricant, and Copper Wire in the Shallow Reef and Kelp Forest.
Mid to Late Game
Unlock the Prawn Suit and Cyclops to reach deep biomes. Farm Plasteel, Enameled Glass, and Power Cells before descending past 500m.
Base Building Tips
Location & Layout
Build near resources but away from aggressive predators. Use the Base Planner tool to design corridors, multipurpose rooms, and power placement before diving.
Power & Storage
Start with Solar Panels, then upgrade to Thermal or Nuclear plants for deep bases. Place lockers near crafting stations to reduce travel time.
Creature Encounters
Avoiding Hostile Fauna
Most predators patrol predictable routes. Use silent running, stay close to terrain, and carry a Stasis Rifle for emergencies.
Leviathan Zones
Leviathans spawn in specific biomes. Check the Biome Guide for hazard zones and never explore them without a fully upgraded vehicle.
Co-op Multiplayer Tips
Role Division
Split roles: one scout with the Seamoth, one base manager, one resource gatherer, and one explorer. Shared bases sync progress across all players.
Communication
Mark discovered blueprints and rare resources on the map. Coordinate depth upgrades so at least one player can reach each biome.
